Improvement of Detail with the Diagnostics

The diagnostics list the problem, but with very limited information to identify find the problem quickly. I would love to see a reference to the form or schedule the error is occurring or a possible option to drill down on the error to avoid time having to search for the diagnostic throughout the entire return.

How will this idea help you and potentially others? Understanding how things are done today, where the pain is, and how the idea is beneficial puts us in your shoes.

Improving the specifics on the diagnostics will improve the preparation time and help our teammates identify issues as quickly as possible. Diagnostics range from a quick fix to possibly needing to request more information from the client.

Who will benefit from this idea? Whether it's specific roles of users, users of a specific product, or certain departments/markets, this helps us know who to talk to when we need more information.

Preparers, reviewers, and clients. Diagnostics help create a good tax return and help clear severe diagnostics that would prevent an e-file reject. With a decrease in prep time and an ability to find the information faster, this would help create a better user experience.

I would add another column or a more detailed description in 990-EV under the diagnostics section or a hyperlink to drill down on the problem.

It would be awesome to have a data base or place to see common diagnostic errors to others identify the problem. This could also help reduce the number of tickets submitted.
