We need to add Form 8082 for preparation/completion. This would be a fillable form per investment that would be driven by some new UI elements. Here's an example of how I think it might work:
Part I would consist of a webview item for Line 1(a)/(b) as a checkbox. If they check 1(b), the additional questions appear for the user to fill out
The checkbox would also control the production of a Form 8082 for the investment
Line 2 would be auto-populated based on the investment type
Line 3-7 would be auto-populated from the General information of the investment
Part II would consist of a checkbox under the estimate column for "Use this information for Form 8082"
If checked, the estimate values will map to Col. (d)
Col. (c) will map from the Federal Taxable Income column
Col. (e) is calculated as Col. (c) minus Col. (d)
Col. (a) and (b) would be new UI elements per line
Part III would be a narrative box placed somewhere in the investment information at the top of the screen titled "Explanation for Form 8082, Part III"
We will not implement this form in 2024. The usage within the client base doesn't support adding this form.
