The could we make the additional K-1 information section check boxes an import? This would be a lot of investors to click through if this field is entered one by one.
The process to mark investor K-1s final is tedious and time consuming. We have to mark each investor final individually, save, then move on to the next. If there was a column in the investor info import template or an enhancement to the actual software, this process would be more efficient.
• K1X will need to determine a better way (i.e. import sheet) for additional K-1 information that needs to be selected on a partner by partner basis.
o For example, should be able to easily identify which partners should be marked final each calendar year.
o Same goes for things on the state side (i.e whether or not a NYC or Yonkers resident for NYS K-1 purposes).
o Amended K-1 box would only need to be checked for all partners if amending a Federal Form 1065.
Import Templates: It is hard to differentiate between required and optional input fields in the import template. It would help to have asterisks noting the required field for import for the users, instead of only relying on the error messages after uploading.
